Get Backers

Short synopsis/Theme:
I have no idea whether the anime's out. This manga is basically about two guys, Ban and Ginji, who start a Get Backer business. They claim to be able to "get back" anything that you've misplaced, or had stolen from you. The manga follows their adventures and mishaps in their desperate attempts to earn money. Oh, the guys also possess powers. Ban has a jagan (evil eye) and Ginji can generate electricity! Along their adventures, you'll find out more about Ban and Ginji's pasts (something you'll really want to know). The manga can be funny sometimes but mostly it's action-oriented. It's a shounen manga so there are shots of boobs and stuff. But the good art and amazing characters make up for it. I've only seen 6 volumes of the manga and I've been told that the more volumes go, the more action there is. Ban and Ginji will team up with more characters and come across new enemies. Probably more slash potential around later, since most of their enemies and friends are guys.

Poor synopsis of mine. But if you're interested in manga like Yu Yu Hakusho, you'll probably like this one.
 

Potential slash couples and why?

Again, I'll say that I've only read some volumes of the manga. At the present time (vol 6) these are my findings.

- Ban and Ginji: They're very close friends and have influenced each other's present lives a lot. We know that Ban has been an important factor in why Ginji is now the light-hearted fun guy he is. We don't know much else but the manga itself establishes that the two of them have an especially close friendship. Being a yaoi-fan, you can easily translate that to a 'more than friends' relationship.

- Ginji and Dr Jackal: Dr Jackal is this cool-looking guy who has a thing for killing. He can make surgical knifes appear from within his body, it seems. He's interested in Ginji because Ginji has defeated him before and he knows that Ginji is a lot stronger, given his past reputation. He wants to fight Ginji again. This couples appeals a lot because of the fact that Ginji is freaked out by Dr Jackal and hates the way he indiscriminantly kills people. In a yaoi relationship, the dynamics would be _very_ interesting.

- Ban and Shido: Actually, Shido has a female love interest and Ban too, in a way. But they're slashable. Because it'd be a lot of fun to slash the two. The both of them can't stand each other. You could always pretend that Ban is attracted to Shiro and is reacting badly to it and vice versa. *grin*

Probably more could be possible.

Sadly, there is only one Get Backers site, but it's good enough. There are Ban and Ginji fics and fanart there too. I haven't read any of the fics yet though so I can't say if they're good. IMHO, the art is a lot better than GW, even if sometimes some characters look similar.
